Flat or Classic: the new Rockster 125 EVO under the expert’s eye
28-10-2025The new Rockster 125 EVO and Rockster Flat EVO return with more power and enhanced design, without losing their custom soul.
Both versions were tested by the specialist press on the winding roads of Girona, where they proved their performance over more than 200 km of riding.
With a 28% increase in power compared to the previous model, the addition of ABS and a refreshed aesthetic full of details, the Rockster 125 EVO range raises the bar in the custom segment. Two styles, one unmistakable Macbor essence.
At the end of the day, the specialist press agreed: “fun”, “easy”, “versatile”, “beautiful”.
Alex Medina | SoloMoto
“The test setting was perfect because these small 125s performed brilliantly and were great fun on roads where rally stages are even held.”
Mariano Urdín | El País
“I think it’s a great idea to split the Rockster into two versions. It’s not only a smart market move, but also gives us two bikes with very different characters: one sportier, the other more custom. In both cases, what impressed me most was the engine, significantly improved over the previous one. I’m positively surprised it meets all homologation standards, delivers 12 hp, is 28% more powerful and complies with Euro5+. The bike feels compact, stylish and finished with Macbor’s usual quality.”
Andreu Monteys | MotoTaller
“What stands out most about these new Macbor models is that, for the same price as in 2023, you now get ABS and a better engine. These upgrades make the product much more complete.”
Berta Doria | Mujeres Moteras
“You don’t always need a mid or high-displacement bike to enjoy riding. Sometimes, all you need is a Macbor and a good twisty road. We had a blast with both the standard and Flat Rockster – they handle really well with their 12 hp. They’re smooth, responsive and let you flow through the curves. Perfect for beginners or car drivers looking to ride a 125.”
Sergi Mejías | El Periódico
“I’d highlight how accessible these models are. They’re ideal for getting back into motorcycling or starting out, whether you’re 16 with an A1 licence or a car licence holder in your 40s, 50s or 60s. They’re lightweight, have a low seat height and are easy to handle. The power won’t overwhelm you, and ABS takes care of braking. Their striking looks aside, they’re perfect for daily commutes or weekend getaways.”
Santi Ayala | Motociclismo
“Macbor has achieved a well-balanced package, both in engine performance and overall design. What you get for around €2,500 is very satisfying – a fun, easy, attractive bike with an excellent price-to-performance ratio.”
Gonzalo de Martorell | Motos x 1000
“A 125 should be easy and functional by definition… and if it’s good-looking, even better. These Rocksters tick all the boxes: easy thanks to their engine, brakes and chassis; functional for both city riding and weekend trips; and undeniably stylish. Beyond the great value, I’d highlight the engine’s high-rev performance and the safety of ABS braking.”
Jordi Botella | La Razón
“Dynamically, the new Macbor Rockster stands out for its ease of use. Its light weight, low centre of gravity and smooth power delivery make for a pleasant, intuitive and safe ride – especially for new riders. The dual front discs and rear disc provide progressive braking, ideal for twisty routes.”
Marisa Nocea | MotoFichas
“Once you’re on it, you feel its lightness and comfort. It’s a very accessible bike for riders of all sizes. The seat is just 730 mm high, and its wasp-like shape – especially in the Classic version – makes it easy for shorter riders to reach the ground. Its 12.2 hp is more than enough for city riding, and the power boost is a great move, especially for those planning interurban trips.”
Iván Bolaño | ABC
“These are two highly accessible bikes, with a seat height suitable for any rider and a curb weight of just 147 kg, making them easy to handle in any situation. Ideal for short daily rides or relaxed weekend outings. Their low, long proportions give them great longitudinal stability, and their light weight makes them a manoeuvrable ‘toy’ for everyone.”
Pipe Hinojosa | Soy Motero
“The Macbor Rockster 125 EVO (€2,499) and Rockster 125 Flat EVO (€2,599) turned out to be a real surprise in terms of dynamics. They’ll also surprise those who want something other than a scooter in the 125cc category and have a budget under €3K. With performance above most bikes in the eighth-litre segment, they’re not only stylish but also great fun thanks to their excellent power-to-weight ratio. They exceed expectations – and that’s a rare thing these days.”
We’ll stick with this definition: two bikes that win you over inside and out.
